These two AEDS give step by step voice instructions appropriate for a pediatric (child) patient once the pediatric pads are inserted. The Philips m5072a infant child pads cartridge automatically reduces the energy of its shock from an adult dose of 150 Joules to a child appropriate dose of 50 Joules. Children under 8 years of age or weighing less than 55 pounds (25 kg), including infants, should be treated using M5072A defibrillation pads if available. So, the rescuer can easily identify the difference between the adult pads and the pediatric pads they are clearly marked with the photo of a teddy bear and a photo of a child is printed on them.
